Before Abraham
I am darkness
I am light
burning day and blackened night.
I am laughter
I am pain
I am sunshine
I am rain.
I am force unleashed in power,
I am the Tao within the flower.
I am spirit,
I am essence,
solid rock and effervescence,
unbound strength and burning fire,
satiate, yet raw desire,
deluging my energy
to integrate in synergy.
Am I loss or am I gain?
Open-eyed, do not constrain
the essence of my will to be:
all around you – this is me.
Earth will ground and air is still,
fires consume and waters fill.
The substance of identity:
wholly you, yet wholly me.
Lose yourself in holding fast
I am your first, I am your last.
Imbibe my being, touch my soul,
infuse my essence – be made whole.
Look in my eyes, begin to see
releasing “I” makes way for “we.”
We wind ourselves in spirit light
and burn on still where dark is bright,
by virtue of such energy
where is no mass or entropy.
We are divine
and we are man
preceding time when time began.
Coming going, lifetimes pass,
we peer into the looking glass
where eye meets eye and heart meets heart –
we have no end, we have no start.
We have been and always will,
we inhale time, hold motion still.
We pass beyond this roaring sea,
embracing immortality.
Here Sons of Grace and Reprobate
return to Source at heaven’s gate.
Here mighty men relinquish power,
confronted at their witching hour.
Here notions cease and tongues are spent.
Desire yields enlightenment.
Emotions wane and fade from sight,
discarded in the burning light.
When all is done we surely know
there is no come, there is no go.
Conjoined below, infused above,
when all is ended…
We are Love.
